Ahmed Abdelmawgoud is a Legal Adviser whose work centres on INTERPOL and on the protection of personal data in international police cooperation. He served as a Legal Officer with the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF), dealing with access to, correction of and deletion of data held in INTERPOL’s Information System.
Today he advises on INTERPOL Notices and Diffusions, CCF proceedings, international extradition and data protection, and prepares strategic submissions against INTERPOL data that does not meet its rules. Having worked at the CCF, he brings an insider’s view of how INTERPOL’s procedures and standards are applied and how decisions there are reached — a perspective grounded in transnational criminal law.
